NFTS 2014 (3 Viewers)

Yeah I got all of that about a month ago, but I had another look at the website and some courses were still accepting applications until the 5th of June which would mean an even longer wait....

I doubt that means that they've postponed the interviews though(?) In the automated reply it states roughly when interviews are taking place for each course, and that you can expect up to two weeks' notice, so that should give you a rough indication as to when you can expect to hear.

I got my 'application being processed, send reference letters' emails only on June 4 (screenwriting) and June 12 (directing fiction). I think there's time to wait before interview invites for either of those courses if they only got round to processing my applications a few days ago. Far fewer people apply to all the other courses, so I don't think DF or screenwriting applicants should worry yet.

FYI I checked my emails from last year and I only got the DF rejection on July 18.

Hey,
little update from my POV.

(MADF) (3rd year of application :) )

I recieved application processing email fairly instantly.
Was asked to supply reference letters soon after. (My referees were a little slow sadly. That got sorted last week. Now waiting on a reply)

N.B. Last year I recieved my rejection as late as July 19th too. So my hopes are not high for a quick response nor a good one. However you can't win if you don't play.

...don't get worried about late replys it seems to always be the case for DF. For me atleast anyway.

Hey Alwayslost, are you me? hah. Same story here regarding this year's application, except I'm applying for the first time.

I'd like to ask you guys about something that worries me a little bit. If someone is accepted in the DF course, is there really an introductory workshop on August? If yes, is the attendance obligatory? I'm asking because I currently live in Greece, so I'm concerned about the time I'll have to prepare, move to the UK etc. if I get an acceptance message near the end of July.

I already suppose that if I'm selected for an interview, I can do this via Skype, right? :P

Hi George, not sure about the Skype interview, im pretty sure it seems perfectly plausible they would! As for workshops, when I went to the open day back in March, they had mentioned there are some workshops but they are not mandatory to attend if you get accepted on the course, as far as I can remember. I think you should be alright. I just saw your film trailer for "on hold" it looks pretty interesting :-) I'm waiting to hear back for DF too, my first year applying. Good luck!

Thanks! Good luck to you too :)

Nope, still waiting.

I just went on the website and where it usually has the deadline date it now says:
The application deadline has now passed, however there may still be a chance to apply. Please contact registry via email stating your name, course of interest and contact details: info@nfts.co.uk

So interviews could quite possibly be delayed. Let's just hope that there are less people applying this year so we have better odds :)

I would imagine that they would ask different questions depending on what course you are applying to but they asked me very general questions. Who are my inspirations, why do I want to to NFTS, and if I wasn't accepted what would I do? Very, very basic stuff.
