Does anyone only have one view? I just noticed my Vimeo link in my application download isn't working when you click it, but works when you copy and paste it does. I was wondering if others also only have one view and its just a sign Im not getting in or I should contact Vimeo to fix the issue.

I don't know if anyone has some insight into this... do you know if anyone over 30 has ever been admitted to the DF course? Like people you know of? I ask because I'm 28 and applying for the first time (for many reasons despite wanting to apply for five years) and if I don't get in this year I'm concerned I'll be too old to be considered

Yes they have definitely taken people over 30! I remember at the open day in 2023, Brian who was the old head of course and still a tutor at the school said 26-28 is the ideal age bracket but they also take older and younger students. I know someone who got on the course at 21, who was very talented and then Terrance Davies who went onto be a big director, studied at NFTS in his 30s. Always happens for people at different ages, filmmaking is a marathon not a sprint!

Yeah I’ve also seen people in their 30s in the cohorts in the last few years! If anything it seems more likely to get in 30+ than before 25. But who knows their reasonings

Hey friends, I just got an interview invite for Directing Fiction! And I had my Directing Documentary interview two weeks ago — hope everything goes smoothly!

Congratulations that's amazing, you must be buzzing! Would you be comfortable sharing how many times your Vimeo link was viewed for those of us still waiting to hear back? Mine was viewed 4 times - first on June 12th and the last two views were on June 16th.

Just trying to gauge whether I should be bracing for rejection or getting my hopes up haha!

Thank you! I was honestly surprised by the number of views — I submitted two films this year and they’ve been watched over 12 times in total. This is actually my second time applying — last year I only got 7 views and didn’t even make it to the interview.

Sorry I can’t share the film right now — it’s currently showing at festivals. But I’d be happy to share it once that’s over. Really hope we both get in and get to work together at NFTS!

My nfts dashboard changed to - "At selection panel - withdraw submission" and no invite to interview today

Yeah it’s weird though - as the withdraw submission part was in the top right before now it’s next to the “at selection panel” bit which I’m guessing is a bad sign ahaha

I think that's NFTS updating their website tbh... don't give up hope yet. They'll be staggering invites out over next week
