In case if you were wondering, this is the post I was referring to (posted by jamesc in the USC Film Production Fall 2011 thread)

I'm happy I had been well distracted the past few days by production, how apt. Distracted from my producer's head by being the production designer for another thesis film. :p

Regarding the forum, maybe.. maybe USC monitors this space. hahha!

I'm with Witt. I don't think USC necessarily reads these forums but I do think that the applicants who care about it enough to obsess over it like this are the ones who get in more frequently, probably based on that sincere interest. All schools love people who flatter them and make them feel like they're the best school on the planet, right? People who tend to get into the Stark Program, for instance, are those who generally want it more than the other applicants wanted it. I think that comes through!

For example, the guy who applied to 12 different law schools and also applied to the Stark Program just to see if he could get into it (because he heard it's the best for film, or something) is probably not going to get in because it's obvious that he doesn't really want it.

Hey Stark applicants,

USC screenwriting applicant here but just wanted to wish you all good luck for Wednesday (assuming you find out then). You all seem like talented, accomplished, driven people, so I definitely expect to see some acceptances coming from this board.

And at least you finally get the wait over with...who knows when we screenwriters will ever hear :(

Hello future fellow starkies...

I guess I'm a little late to the whole nail bitting waiting experience but better late than never I guess..

So here it goes...

My name is Adriana, from Monterrey Mexico. 23. Currently production coordinator at a tv show called Morir en Martes that airs in 65 countries.

I got a call from Larry this week. Similar to those some of you have been having recently.

I am sooooo nervous! So... they reveal their decision on the 23rd? WAAAH!!

ok... hi guys...

i'm kinda catching up with all your posts....

first of all .... congratulations to moonfullofstars and to ohaizz for getting into the top 40

on my phone call Larry said once 35 and once 40... so i'm guessing its an estimate...

Last tuesday they emailed me saying they couldnt reach me ... (i was on set working so i wasnt home to answer the phone) anyways. Larry, Richard and Henry conferenced called me on wednesday. I was in the middle of a shoot but still talked with them for 8 minutes.

He also told me "sorry i'll make you wait one more week" so i'm guessing they're gonna respect the deadline to inform us.

wish we'll all get in!

Well guys and gals, I got bad news from Stark today. Good luck to those who haven't heard yet. That leaves Chapman, and if that doesn't work, then I'll be the best studio admin assistant I can be!

Thanks, Mirpanda and KrisKelvin! Best of luck to both of you! Hopefully we potential future Starkies will get the opportunity to work on some of your films!

AdriMtz, congratulations! You sound like you have a great shot at getting in and I'm really happy to see that you've made the top 40, as well. Let's hope that we'll make the final cut!!!

RJDee, so, so, so sorry to hear about your sad news! The good news, though, is that the Starkies I've talked to have told me that the Stark Program LOVES people who reapply. So that means that if you still have your heart set on it, you can reapply next year and you will almost certainly make the cut because they will love you for caring enough to reapply! And that goes to all of us; if any of us don't get in now, we can still reapply and have a much better shot. They keep our files for a year, I think! By the way, RJDee, good luck with Chapman! If not, then your work experiences in the coming year will make you an even stronger applicant next time around :)

Max!!! Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that!

Man, what a bummer! I think you're going to get into UCLA, though. I have a feeling :)

Sorry to those that got rejected. Hopefully you might receive some good news from your other applications :)

I'm so nervous it seems like i'll be receiving the results any time! I only applied to Stark and only stark so... fingers crossed!

Thanks Max and Moon. I'm holding out for Chapman now but if that doesn't work out, I think I may sign up for the SCA summer internship class and start to get some legit film experience. I'm also going to scope out Mandy.com to see what temp jobs I can get as a PA for student or indie films. Then I'll see me good buddy Richard in July again and show/tell him how much I've learned and that I'm dedicated to getting to the biz and to Stark. I still feel that it's the best program out there and that I could learn a lot. Plus, having USC on the resume is all kinds of sexy! And for those of you who do get in, please keep me in mind if you need any highly skilled, highly competent, and free labor! Seriously, PM me and let's keep in touch! Again, good luck to all!

Max, sorry to hear about Stark, but like Moon said, I think you've got a lock on UCLA!

Hi guys,

Max and RJDee i'm very sorry to hear about your letters but its good you have other options. Max it seems you'll definitely get in to UCLA. And hopefully you'll get into Chapman RJDee.

So, everyone else... I can't handle the tension!!! I can't wait for tomorrow. How do you think they'll let us know? Email? Phone? Mail?

I got my UCLA rejection letter by email. So maybe USC will also email??

I hope to get a phone call tomorrow from larry saying I'm in =P....

Wow Witt, that's a crucial piece of information! Thanks for sharing.

So, the waiting period is gonna be over in 24 hours... dunno if I can sleep tonight.(I will have to at some point, though)

Witt! Thanks for calling. Do you know who the e-mails are for? I know accepted applicants are generally notified over the phone...but are e-mails for international students? Or for rejected/wait listed candidates...?
