USC SCA Writing for Screen and Television MFA Fall 2024

They said specifically at the information session I attended that you should put your name on all your submitted material. I'm putting in the header of everything: my name, my USC ID#, the title of the sample, and the page number.
Awesome, thank you!

I wasn't sure because some places ask for materials to be anonymous for selection purposes :)

Ugh. I'm hoping slideroom comes back soon. I think they are re-doing the site but I remember it said it would be done by 1 PM ET
It's still down for me and last time I was able to access it was on Friday...

Slideroom was scheduled to be down for maintenance today I believe through 3pm ET. I was able to access it today at some point after that time. Now, however, after closing out of it, I get a Server Error 403 when trying to access it again from my application 🙃 Is that what the rest of you are seeing?

Has anyone tried calling the program in inquire that they're aware of the error?
I'm abroad, so I emailed them, but it would be great if everyone else having issues also tried contacting them in case they haven't noticed. Maybe they can speed up the fix or extend the deadline to compensate for the lost time 😟

The film production's slideroom is also down.
I think it's a communication issue between the USC portal and SlideRoom because I just got notified that one of my recommendations was uploaded, so something *is* working.

At this point I'm starting to believe the universe doesn't want me to apply this year 😒

So good news! Well, kinda good news considering...

So I just got off the phone with USC:

1. They are aware that Slideroom is down! (This is good...they know there's a problem)
2. They have notified Slideroom and are hoping Slideroom fixes this in the next few hours and that applicants can get online tonight. They said they recommended applicants check again this evening.
3. If it doesn't get fixed soon, they will extend the deadline so people have time to do the application. (But yes they are of course, hoping it gets fixed soon.)

Another (kinda) good update. This is the email I got from Slideroom support:

Good Morning. Thank you for reaching out to Slideroom Support. The system was down for a period on the 12th due to system maintenance. It is back up and running at this time. We were experiencing an issue with the link to Slideroom from the USC Graduate application. You can try to access the portal directly using the below link.

Can anyone answer this question?

As someone replied in that thread, "statement of purpose" doesn't appear to be a requirement for this program/application.

Thanks for this! It does indeed work from this link, but still not from the Graduate application!
