Interesting... I wonder if a round of rejections are going out today. I haven't received any contact about an interview, so I've been writing off NYU, but I suppose it's not over until you actually hear from them. Congrats on USC, by the way! What a relief that must be.Just received a rejection from NYU's Directing MFA... I assumed this would happen since I applied to some directing and some screenwriting programs.
So far:
USC (Writing for Screen & TV) - Accepted
NYU (Production/Directing) - Rejected
Columbia (Screenwriting/Directing) - Waiting
UCLA (Production/Directing) - Waiting
Just received an email to interview for UCLA's MFA Production/Directing program!
Hi,Just received a rejection from NYU's Directing MFA... I assumed this would happen since I applied to some directing and some screenwriting programs.

Hi,
First, congrats on getting accepted to USC.
Second, how did you hear about your acceptance to USC? Did they contact you or were you told to log in and check your status?
My boyfriend has just received an email about an interview for UCLA so I went on here to see if I could find tips on interview questions and found that people are already finding out that they have been rejected/accepted to USC. I found the link to log in to check the status of his application, but he refuses to log in since he hasn't received any email telling him to log in there. I guess I shouldn't be so nosy about his status, but it is a big deal for the both of us, so I at least am curious to find out how people were notified.
Haha that is quite the predicament you are in. While I can totally relate to where your boyfriend is coming from (I had a similar approach) there really isn't a reason for him not to log in to check is status - it has no impact on an inevitable decision.
Timeline of how I found out:
Anyways I really hope this helps. My advice would be to check the USConnect page and see the status of your application (or secretly log on to check your boyfriend's application). Based on my experience and from what others on this thread are saying it seems that USC's system is updated before they get around to notifying people.
- I was able to log on to Camel 2/21.
- My status was updated at https://usconnect.usc.edu on or around 2/22 notifying me a decision had been made and that I was accepted.
- I received an email telling me to check my application status on 2/23 (by then I already knew I was accepted).
I hope your relationship survives these rigorous times.
Best of luck to everyone and congrats to everyone that has received good news.
Edit: Also sorry to troll the question since it wasn't even directed at me but I thought I could offer some insight.
ThanksCongrats on your acceptance, RSY! Must be nice knowing you have one bird in the hand.![]()
How did your Columbia interview go? I have mine on 3/2. Did you Skype or go to NYC?
