Hi everyone! I just randomly stumbled upon this forum yesterday and have been lurking around. I wish I had found it sooner! It is such a nice & supportive community. It really helps to not feel like I am going through this alone. Anyways, I have decided to speak up and join the conversations. I have applied to NYU, Columbia, and UCLA for Directing.

NYU - Denied without Interview (Notified on 2/25)
UCLA - Skype Interview ( They told me on 2/25 and gave me two options 2/27 or 3/4. I tried to get 3/4 to have some more time to prepare, but they just emailed saying the only time available is for 2/27. I am panicking soooo much!)
Columbia- Waiting

Also, if this helps, I am an international student with last name H.

***If anyone else has some tips for UCLA interview- I would greatly appreciate it. I am trying to figure out how to best prepare for the pitch, if it is a normal pitch or if like Buusey had mentioned for last year it is purely visual. Anybody know? Buusey has already been a great help! Thanks!

Just go a rejection email from UCLA producers program but I have an interview at AFI today which is my top choice!! So excited and nervous!

Still no word from USC.

Yes, I got an interview for Screenwriting/Directing for 3/12 with the option of over the phone or on Skype. I am an international and my last name starts with H. Best of luck to everyone! There is still hope. It seems like interview emails are still going out! *Fingers crossed*

The news is coming in fast and furious for me now. Within the last 4 days, I found out that I was rejected from UCLA and UT Austin for screenwriting, but accepted into USC (my first choice!). Still waiting to hear from AFI (I had an interview earlier this month) and NYU. Best of luck to everyone!

when did you receive your USC acceptance email? which concentration? tv or film?

I got the acceptance notification from USC on Sunday morning, and I also received an email specifically from SCA last night. And I'm leaning toward concentrating in film, though I'd like to learn as much about TV writing as I can.
