That's why I said "generally." NYU is notoriously stingy. However, last year I did get admissions to admit they gave a few full rides every year, so there's that.

I noticed myself and one other have not been contacted by Chapman. It does not appear they have checked my video, for those that have been contacted when did you apply? I didn't submit until 11/26, I really like Chapman and I'm getting a bit worried.

Hey Guys,

I just came across this forum when googling tips for interviews. I have an interview with NYU (Dramatic Writing Program) this week. I couldn't be more excited. I'm glad I found this and spent the time to read through all 19 pages. The interview questions were particularly useful. I also applied to USC, though I have heard nothing from them as of yet. I already noted my stuff in the spreadsheet (which is super cool). Hopefully I hear something from USC soon.

Just wondering: does everyone that applies to NYU get an interview? I'm confused by the process and it seems my invite was late in the game.

I will pm you about the email I got about the interview. I wish I knew more, but will share what I've got! I got two emails within the same minute: an email from the MFA program assistant mentioning that the admissions committee is interested in setting up a brief meeting and an email that included a link to a poll. The poll included all the possible time slots I could do for my interview and I was told to mark all of the times I could do. I was the 11th anonymous participant to add their name and selections for times to the poll.

Also, it seems worth mentioning that I was given 9 possible time slots in the poll. 5 of the times were on Friday the 26th and 4 were on Friday the 4th.

I am international student and I applied to Cinematography programs of top schools in day of deadlines! (I sent my transcripts and scores about 7 days later!)

Till now I only received email from UCLA telling me to send my work to them.

Does completing application at deadline delay the decisions ?

Is there anybody international here and heard from AFI USC NYU lately ?

Thinking that I am rejected already

Hi I'm international too and submitted my application to USC for Cinematography on the day of the deadline.
I still haven't heard from them either but I think the application process might be slower this year so I don't think you are rejected just give it sometime.

I dont recall that USC had Cinematography emphasis program. It just had production right ?

Hi everyone!
First time to post in here.

Now I received interview from UCLA, but much earlier than others, it was sent on 31, Jan. However, I applied for Directing/Film Production(Documentary), so maybe that's the reason.
I confirm that I want to do the interview on Skype on 3, March Last Wednesday, but now they haven't replied me!! Not even confirm that they received my email though I keep sending emails on the following days.

So nervous at this moment, I can't sleep well at night
Has anyone met this situation before? Should I call them, or just keep waiting?

I also apply to UCLA in Cinematography and I am also an international student. And just like you they contacted me to see more of my work but since then I've heard nothing. However, I received an email from a teacher in USC that wanted to interview me through skype but it was suppose to happen yesterday but it didn't and still no news from him...

@XD_TAT I wouldn't freak out about it too much. I had a similar situation, though mine was for screenwriting. I contacted the school and the person who answered my call said she'd contact the person I was corresponding with by email and let them know that I was waiting for a response. You might want to try that. If your situation is like mine, you likely received the email from a graduate student, so he/she might be busy with coursework or trying to arrange the skype call. Either way, I think calling the school is the way to go because I got an email response later in the day after I called them. Best of luck.

Sounds like they sent invites to their top 12 then. Congrats!! It'll be interesting to see how their new system goes this year. Although it doesn't seem like they had a well-established system for their admissions process before. What date did you pick! Hope it goes well!!

Thank you! And you're right - it does seem like they picked their top 12. I marked in the poll I received access to that I can attend any of the 9 possible time slots. I haven't heard back about what date and time I ended up with yet, but either date available is fine with me. March 4th would give me more time to prepare.

Thanks! You really calmed me down. I have contacted the school, and he told me that the person who contacted me has been out for several days, and she will be back tomorrow, so anyway, hope I can get the reply tomorrow.
