@Amanda To which programs have you applied?

Just one - LMU's Writing and Producing for Television

LMU and LIU are the only two that offer that specific program, and I've already done a stint in NYC, so I want LA to be the next place I live ... hence, LMU.

I'm definitely feeling nervous that I only applied to one place, so there's no backup or safety, but hey, it only takes one yes for each of us! I see you only applied to USC, so I guess we're in the same boat ...

Glad I'm not the only one who simply applied to one school. Seems like there are only a few of us based on the Google spreadsheet. Hopefully we'll both be hearing positive news within the next few months!

If there is only one right program for you - then go for it, I say!

I applied to three programs but none of them are lesser than the other in my eyes. I didn't want to apply to 2nd tier schools (in my own mind). I wanted to be genuinely thrilled if I get into any one of the programs I applied to.

Happy February everyone! I think people are going start hearing back from places this week and next! I have a good feeling about it! :)

I'm starting to feel like the odd one out with all these outside degrees lol ... BA in Film, Professional Certification in Film Video Media - Writing/Producing.

BFA in Cinematic Arts... Very hopeful to focus on directing and writing while working with a great team.
I think the schools I applied to give me a good chance to build my skills and In my mind they all want me lol(don't judge me).

Don't want to be a stickler, but I thought I'd point out:

On the Google spreadsheet, notice if you scroll down there are tabs for different pages. I think some people have been adding their info to the first page it arrives at (which is Fall 2015). Please check that your info is listed on the Fall 2016 page ... It took me a while to figure it out. Thanks all!

You know what, I was thinking the same thing today. I was wondering how come it seems that the gap is even getting bigger. But I think you are spot on the money with your guess on people missplacing their info. Please double check your info, guys!

I believe there's an option to lock the Fall 2015 sheet so people can't continue to add their info. Something to consider?

I just got a reminder mail from USC for filling out scholarship form and last date for the same is 5th Feb. For Columbia, guess its 15th feb to fill out financial need assessment form.
Does UCLA and NYU also have such forms?

No, NYU and UCLA do not have separate forms for financial aid.
Columbia needs the assessment and, for U.S. applicants, their FASFA information by Feb. 16th. For those of you who are filling out the FASFA, just a reminder that when you submit your form it can take up to three days to be processed. Your schools will not be able to access your information until the FASFA has been fully processed. Something to keep in mind as Columbia's deadline approaches. :)

I got an e-mail from a USC professor a few hours ago: it's an invitation for an interview on Skype next Sunday. I've updated the spreadsheet but I thought it'd be useful to share it here as well (I applied to the Film Production - Directing MFA at SCA).
I'm quite excited--and also nervous. As we all know, these following weeks are going to be hectic!
Good luck to all of you!!!

Wow! Congrats! That's awesome! And insanely quick! Next Sunday? They are moving way earlier than last year. Surprised it is personasilised rather than mass spam and reserve your own interview slot.. Maybe it is due to intl applicant status?

Just to clarify, the message was sent directly by the professor but it wasn't personal: other applicants were bcc'd and there were different interview slots to choose from. He seemed really friendly and insisted on the idea that these interviews were informal and we didn't need to prepare much for them.

My personal impression is that they may have distributed the applicants between several members of the review committee, and each one of them will contact them independently--probably on different days. So there's no need to worry because most of us will probably be contacted over the course of the following days!

Once again, good luck to you all!

Congrats on that, I hope it goes well.

Hey all! Good to be back on the forum after such a crazy winter. Last week I heard back from UT and I've been put on their wait-list (top 15 out of 90) so that's the first I've heard of any of the schools.

Hi! I ran across this thread today and was so happy to see it. I applied to Columbia and NYU for MFA Writing/Directing for Fall 2016. I am curious to know how many people came from other fields outside of Film? I have a Bachelor of Architecture degree.

A little late to the party on this, but I have a B.A. in Literature. Another one outside the fold of film.
