I do know that a lot of filmmaking is about networking and knowing people because that's how you get jobs. We all have different strengths and weaknesses in life and for some people, they will naturally be better at networking compared to others.

Me personally, because I am autistic, I am TERRIBLE at networking. I hate the idea of small talk and can't just sit down and have a conversation with someone for 10+ minutes like some people can and I HATE the thought of walking up to someone and talking to them. That's why I'll never be good at networking.

And since film is all about networking, I'm at a natural disadvantage compared to my more outgoing and socially attuned peers. So for that reason, a part of me doesn't believe I would be successful in the film industry unless I can find someone who's willing to network for me.

Don't look at networking as small talk. That's a mistake. Networking is dating without the romance or the sex. You're looking to meet people who you want to collaborate with, not use. If you approach it from the perspective of "this person's cool; I wonder how I can help them out," it becomes a much less painful proposition.

Beginning with the 2021-2022 admission cycle, Chapman University no longer requires applicants to disclose their criminal history during the admission process. The admission committee makes all decisions on candidates for admission without knowledge of criminal history.

So basically you could be going to school with someone who robbed a bank and stole millions of dollars and you wouldn't even know it.

Maybe that's how they can afford Chapman in the first place.

Has anyone received scholarship or financial aid updates? It stated we were supposed to receive it with admissions offer. Although I've been admitted, I haven't received an official email yet, so I'm hoping it will be sent with that?

Directing is the most competitive program, that's probably why.

I don't know if anyone saw the Financial Aid email today, but it looks like if we were getting fellowships or scholarships, then it would already be on our portal with our acceptance letters . We'd have gotten them at the same time.
