Icebreakers How old is everyone? Straight out of undergrad or a few years out?

I'm now a senior undergraduate student and tbh I'm worried that my young age might be a disadvantage in application for MFA programs. I talked with my mentor, who got his MFA at the age of 30, and his advice for me is to work for a few years and then apply to MFA programs.

if the school/program wants you, they won’t be concerned with your age. don’t fret too much

30 right now. 31 during the week all decisions are finalised (March 16th...eek!) :D
As soon as I graduated from my Bachelors degree in Sciences, I had to immediately jump into work to support my family. I took the first job that came to me which was in the world of retail and have been in the retail sector since 2013.

I took everything as a blessing though! I knew I wanted to create and become a writer especially for film and television. I managed to support my family and save up quite a bit since then to fund and invest in my passion. I really wanted to apply years before but I thought it would be heartbreaking having to turn down a spot (should I have been lucky to be awarded one) due to finances. I wasn't confident that I would be able to fully fund my studies and living out across the pond.
