NFTS Directing Fiction MFA 2027

Hello all! I just submitted my application for Directing Fiction starting in 2027! Nervous, and a helluva long wait ahead, but wanted to get a conversation going. Has anybody else applied or is planning on applying? Any advice? How long does the application process tend to take?

NFTS is a massive pipedream, but I thought if not now, when?

Hello! This graph is interesting to see! I have applied to NFTS directign fiction as well for the january 2027 intake. The wait is nervewrecking but knowng theres other people waiting as well is conforting. I believe we hear back from them after the applications have closed, May? Still to know, good luck everyone and I hope we all make it in!

Thanks for logging your application. I think it's time for me to add a Spring 2027 category. That's when you'd be starting if you're accepted?

If I'm accepted I'd be starting in the January 2027 intake. I put down spring 2026 as my category since thast when im doign the application process. Hope tyhis helps with the data!

The categories are for intake time which admittedly are geared more for the fall entry/spring entry of US programs.

I'll make one for spring 2027 and move your application there.

Anyone else’s application “at the selection panel” seems like things might be moving quite fast this year?

My application has been “at selection panel” for a while now. There was trouble with one of my link and they reached out to me to fix it, before deadlines closed, so i’ve been at selection panel for a while. However one of my films has gotten one full view a few days ago now, idk if that means much just yet tho. Is a full view good or should i be expecting more than one view on all my submissions?

I'd say a full view is great. I believe some years (for some programs can't remember which) people had partial views which is no fun. Is this on Vimeo?

Here's some more talk of views from last year. Views appear to roll in throughout if judging by last year is any guide.

Also update on Vimeo views: got my second set of views on my additional application films, guess crunch time is coming soon!

Yes, but not from the same location. Probably from festivals tbh

I did apply on 23 January 2026 and my application was processed and sent to the selection panel on 9th march 2026. The status is till the same. Hoping to get an outcome in the coming week.
