Peter Stark Program 2010

Max, I am still international...unfortunately! I hate the fact that being here does not depend upon me, but upon someone else granting me a visa. Sometimes I feel so unwanted! But I hope things will change and that this will be my home someday. I love Milan, but there is no cinema there, nobody takes it seriously - and if they do there is no money to produce anyways so... Here it all goes around the entertainment industry and I love it, I love meeting with directors, writers, publicists, artists.

Mirpanda, now I remember! You are right, I had studied that so long ago that I didn't recall it came from that...silly me, what kind of Italian am I?

19 days to go. Have a good day all!

Haha - I thought there was the undertone threading through about how absolutely boring I've been lately. Wish I had some steady form of employment, yor lucky sunvagun.

Some not-so-good news on the stark front - One of my referees got a message that said they got lots of applications and that they 'end up breaking some hearts and making a mistake or two'. Am really bummed out, because i don't know if it means they are rejecting me or not.

It's a depressing place at mine right now.

I just read that and one of my referees got the same exact answer! Do not despair I believe it is a cut and paste message that they use so as not to give out too much information (they know that referees tell applicants about emails, they are not stupid!) So I guess it's nothing to worry about. I mean it's good that we got that, it means they are at least taking us in consideration right?

remember: failure can be an option, but not fear! We must hold on and be strong.

Have a good we. Hate it though it goes by so slow!

Hello, Witt!

I'm a little confused about the e-mail your referee received. Did Larry personally send a referee of yours an e-mail...? Is there a reason why? Could you please clarify the context?

I contacted all of my recommenders and none of them have received any messages from the Stark Program.

Hey guys, thought I'd let you know that I have an phone interview for Production today! Maybe there's a chance I might actually make it in and see some of you guys in the fall! Gah! I felt like it was such a long shot just to get an interview. I'll let you all know how it goes. Good luck to all of you. Can't wait til the 23rd to hear your good news!

I feel so intimidated by everyone now, and nervous. I wonder if they would make a long distance call to those that are not in the US.

Truman's book is great, that's my fav producing book ever!!

Has anyone read "The Movie Business Book" by Jason E. Squire--another USC faculty member. If not, it is also a really good book. Unlike Turman's book (which is probably the greatest producing book out there), Squire's book gives a comprehensive view how all of the pieces of the industry fit together. I'm just about to start Eve Honthaner's book "Hollywood Drive". She is also a SCA faculty member. Impressive how every great book on the business is written by someone at USC. No wonder I want to go there. Who doesn't want to be taught by the best?!

Hey everyone, long time no see! I see there has been quite a lot of conversation going on these days.

Two more weeks, and we'll be getting the phone calls (hopefully...). Counting days makes me feel like a child waiting for Santa Claus to come. Nervous, yet a little excited.

Witt, it does no good to despair that which has not happend. You have to hold onto hope until you have confirmation to do otherwise.
