Peter Stark Program 2010

Hey everyone...yes, I know, 12 days. I am freaking out, watching LOST on Netflix and cooking (I am not a genius at it but it helps to keep me busy). I know, as all of my friends are telling me I should, quote, just relax, chill...things will work out the way you want. They don't get it, they are not understanding the pressure we are under. I know that you guys feel the same. This is a life changing opportunity and I hate it nobody gets it. Sorry, I had to say it.

Having said that, I hope you are all hanging on fine. I have found ways of distracting myself from the countdown, but I cannot bring myself to really DO anything. I am too busy waiting, slowly brewing. So. Let's take our minds off it. Let's talk. Name your top 5 favorite films. I hate to do lists, but I am curious. And I also want to know one thing from you. What brought you to the realization that you wanted to be producers? - oh, we are among friends it's not an interview :)

Me top 5 fav movies in random order are:

- Pride and Prejudice, this represents my love for british films, costumes and Jane Austen.
- Lost in Translation, this is my ideal film when I feel down and misunderstood. It gives me hope, I know I am not alone and it's also incredibly well filmed.
- The Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring. I am in love with fantasy films and with Tolkien's mythology. Heroes, Elves, Good, Evil. Great plot, great director, superb music by Howard Shore.
- Star Wars: episode IV. The film that made me realize that I wanted to "do it myself one day". And that made me realize I had to learn english to do so. I learned the entire saga by heart, mimicking the accent.
- You've got mail. I am a romantic girl too. This film is delicate and well written. I had to admit that.

These are a good example of my crazy taste and my love for good stories. I started watching movies when I was very little and it's entirely my mother's fault. She would make me watch old b/w movies by George Cuckor or Alfred Hitchcock when I was only 5. I started playing videogames immediately after that - hence my love for fantasy and special effects. Zelda Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy are my favorites. Then music came and I started to collect movie soundtracks. I was 10 when I asked my mother what profession I had to do to make films. And from then I knew and I fought against everyone to prove that it is possible to achieve it. That I was not crazy and that I could aim at the best. And now I am here. Whatever will happen I am proud of being a heretic and proving them wrong. I did not settle.

:)

Thanks Allie for the diversion. The wait, as you know, is agonizing.

Piggy-backing off Allie's post, here's another few questions I'd be curious to know the answers to/keep us occupied. The rule - you can only pick one of each.

1) You get to meet one person alive or dead, who would it be?

2) If you could take an internship anywhere, where/who would you take it with.

3) If you could pack your bag and get on a jet, where would you go tommorrow to get over your film school application stress?

1. I think either George Lucas or Mr. Miyamoto - the guy who practically invented Nintendo. And my grandmother. Btw, Bill Murray is one of my favorite actors!

2. Lucasfilms, Nintendo or with James Cameron.

3. I really want to go to Singapore. I have already been to Asia (India, Tibet and China), but I hear Singapore stands alone for its peculiarity. Or Japan.
