USC SCA Writing for Screen & TV MFA Fall 2023 (2 Viewers)

Same experience as other internationals here re: getting the email that my decision was available to view on the youSC portal late Saturday night PST. I did just get an email from the SCA around 2:40 p.m. PST today, officially welcoming me to the program and informing me of the deadline for enrolment. Idk if anyone else has gotten that email—if yes, my guess is that either they’ve finished sending out all acceptance emails (and so are now mass-emailing us all the welcome email), or the welcome email is just set to be sent out 2 days after you get your acceptance, whenever you get it.

Hang in there, friends, and all the best! I hope the long wait brings you good news (and a healthy dose of “wtf, USC” for playing with our feelings like this).

It feels crass for them to send out the welcome email to everyone accepted *before* notifying rejections lol but also? possible.

From a marketing standpoint, however, an automatic 2 days makes sense.

I think I could believe that all the acceptances were sent out if at least one domestic applicant posted somewhere, anywhere, that they got accepted. It just seems really odd that no one would post anything, but nothing is impossible. I’n still holding out hope! Congratulations to all who were accepted, and to the rest of us, keep our fingers crossed!!

I meant all international acceptances, not all acceptances full stop, sorry! I really hope I didn’t cause any undue anxiety, I was just trying to help since I know updates are few and far between.

The delay is probably just because there’s a much greater volume of domestic applicants than international. Good luck everyone!

nope! could it genuinely be that no one who uses this site got in? it’s possible but i still want to believe there is a chance
I just keep telling myself they're having an issue with their system haha. But if that is the case I guess we should find out in the next day or so when rejections usually come out...

I’m on the Film Production side and no one has said anything. Even international applicants so I think things are just different this year.

I’m debating whether or not to call and ask if they’ve all been sent out yet. Would it hurt to try?

I don't think so. We'd have seen something somewhere else. People have this fear every year.

Honestly, at least some FilmSchool.org members usually get in - the Venn diagram of people who get accepted and people who find this site tend to overlap. :)

Use one of those voice disguisers. ;) I'm kidding. No, I don't think it would hurt.

I called and they told me all of the decisions haven’t been sent out yet, they’ll be out either by the end of this week or next week! A little relief but still: more waiting lol
Thank you for calling!

omg cap as in lying? Nooo! Just trying to help give people a timeline for domestic admissions :( I got the "your decision is ready" email on Saturday and the email from SCA yesterday! It's good to hear that they're still sending notifications though :) i'm pretty high up alphabetically so maybe they're doing it that way?
