Definitely not! Look at the spreadsheet from last year, there are still interviews and acceptances well past today's date that went out last year. It's not over till the fat lady sings, as they say. I don't think it hurts in being realistic and having other backup plans to work toward your goals next year, but don't count yourself out until you get that answer from the source.

@peace. I was another one who had a lot of issues getting my transcripts to USC. From what I can tell, the transcripts get sent to the graduate admissions, but SCA has very little contact with them. Your application is evaluated by people who have access to the unofficial copies you uploaded in your application (assuming this is the same in all programs--I'm a screenwriting applicant). They were sending me emails practically every week about it; I was impressed how many different form letters they had for this situation because I never got the same one twice! I haven't gotten one in a month or so, so I'm guessing they found all my stuff. (I never ordered more copies; I guess they send these emails even before they're done looking through the mail. )

Anyway, every time I got one of these warnings, I found someone new to email about it. When I emailed the writing department, they told me that the unofficial transcripts on my application were sufficient for them to make a decision; however, if I was admitted, I would be required to supply the real ones. So I would say, until you are getting ready to actually enroll, you should be ok. It's only February

It's actually quite odd how little activity USC has generated so far. Ofcourse now I'm just checking my video submission and second guessing it constantly. I chose a simple looking dialogue scene where I felt the acting was spot on. It is also in a surrounding where there is like 30-40 extra's going about. Then again if they think it's shot in an authentic surrounding and would have preffered multiple scenes/locations -I'm screwed

I tried to schedule a campus tour for that date and was told that there will be a current student to show the premises. I got the feeling that it was standard and set up for everyone beforehand, which is nice!

@Paul J. You tried to schedule a tour at Columbia? I was thinking about doing the same for the day of my interview, but if things are already set up then maybe I don't have to! Did they give you any further information on that front?

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking around here for a few weeks, but this is my first post (I did update the spreadsheet though

Quick background: I'm a copywriter from Barcelona and I've applied to Directing MFAs at Columbia and NYU. I haven't heard back from Columbia (and I suspect I won't) but I was invited to an interview at NYU!

I'm researching for the interview and I have a question maybe someone here can answer: have (all) the interviewers gone through your application materials? Because looking around for typical questions, I found that some of them are similar to what I at least wrote my Personal Statement about (like why do you want to make films? what kind of stories would you like to tell? or what films have had an impact in your life?). So I'm wondering: if they ask these questions and I answer like in my Personal Statement, that may be repetitive and boring for them, but maybe they didn't read it, or maybe it is a bit repetitive but you have to stick with it because it's the truth...

What do you guys think?
