NFTS 2014 (2 Viewers)

I applied for both DF and screenwriting - haven't yet had a confirmation from either...

This is my second year applying. Waiting for the result last year was pure hell. Hope they get through them quicker this time. I might send some packets of good coffee as an anonymous gift.

I got the email today confirming my application is being processed and requesting that my referees send their letters.

I applied for both Directing Fiction and Screenwriting so not sure if that's the only email I'll get or if they just got round to one of them.

Congrats Jaime on getting the interview! I think just being yourself is important, not trying to say what you think they want to hear. And I guess you should make sure you can talk knowledgeably about any things you mentioned in the application.

i know its probably early but has anyone heard anything about the DF course? it seems their getting through the cinematography applications first...

To clarify for those who applied for the DF course, it does say in the initial email that an email confirming the application is being processed can take up to six weeks to be received by an applicant. It's only just been a month. I think if you haven't received a response after 19th June, then you have cause to contact them about it, but I'm afraid we could be waiting another two weeks before we hear anything. It could also take a further two weeks beyond that to discover whether or not we've been shortlisted for an interview.

I suspect the only reason DCL has received a processing email is because they required his references. That being said, I did contact them for an unrelated reason and the person who responded informed me that my application was being processed and that I should have received an email. I told them that I had not, and that I would take their telling me this as an indication that it was being processed. I didn't receive any further response, so I assume this was satisfactory to them.

yea it does say 6 weeks in the confirmation email, and luckily i got mine around 2 weeks ago, but was just curious how everyone else is doing? :-) best of luck people...

Hi, yeah me too, for Editing. Do you know what the interviews are like?

Well I've applied for Cinematography, and only received confirmation that my application has been processed so far. Heard mixed things about the interviews from a few sources, but the general consensus is that they're not anything to panic over! Good luck!

When I visited the Open day for DF in March, they mentioned something about a "visual" test just before the interview takes place, a sort of an "ice-breaker" to get the applicant comfortable etc... I suspect there are similar test for all the other specialties...

Hi everyone, I've applied for the MA Directing Documentary (hence the super creative name), and I'm just wondering if anyone has had an invite to an interview yet? I know its only been a month but I'm starting to get worried. Any advice would be greatly appreciate.

Have you received confirmation that your application has been processed, and requesting references etc.? It looks as though Editing applicants have started to be interviewed, but the rest of us are eagerly waiting!

Yeah I got all of that about a month ago, but I had another look at the website and some courses were still accepting applications until the 5th of June which would mean an even longer wait....
