Hi! I just got an interview request and I'm super excited :) Hope everyone's applications went well!
That's amazing news!!! You should definitely look through some of the previous application year's threads to prep, I've seen people post about what kinds of questions they were asked. I'm still hoping for an interview request myself -- can I ask if yours will be conducted in person or virtually? And how did they reach you, by email or phone? Big congrats again!

congrats!!! would you mind telling us whether it was via email or phone? Good luck!

Thank you! I received an email about scheduling a Zoom interview. Make sure you check your spam! I'll be looking at those threads to prep for sure. Good luck to you guys!

I had a Zoom interview last week! We had a very nice conversation and they told me more about the program and what to expect. They asked me what I like to write and then left it to me to ask questions, which I had a bunch! Toward the end, they asked me what I like to watch and read. Fingers crossed!

Yay! I'm so glad it went well!! What kind of questions did they ask? Also, who were your interviewers?

Expecting to hear soon, based on past years. Wondering if anyone has heard anything!
Yay! I'd bet probably next week. I haven't heard anything yet. I think I'm a bit indifferent in how confident I am about me getting in. I wasn't 100% confident in my interview because it was my first one for any program so I didn't know what to expect and was pretty nervous. Granted, it certainly felt really informational rather than a typical interview. Once it got going my nerves cooled down, but I don't know if I said or asked anything particularly "standout." I'm trying to be realistic about my expectations, to say the least!

Hey! I had my interview a few weeks ago. I had Phyllis and George (?) and I think it went well. I got rejected from USC’s program last year so I’m not getting my hopes up too much.

Mine was with Phyllis Nagy (dept. head / adaptations professor) and Jill Goldsmith (TV writing professor). I was very impressed with both of them and really enjoyed our conversation and their passion for the program. I wanted to send them a thank you note after, but wasn't in contact with them directly so decided against it. UCLA is my top choice and my fingers are crossed! The waiting is killing me!!

I was gonna send them a personalized thank you email too…. Haha I didn’t know if it would be flattering or creepy/schmoozing to seek out their emails ..
